February's Autocross Report
by Jerry Wilcox
Warm, sunny, winter weather has brought the British cars to
autocrossing in force.
No less than six new Mini's were competing Sunday. Two club members, Bruce Skaggs, 07 Mini Cooper S and Tom Sizemore, 2005 Mini Cooper S were doing great. And two Mini's from the Clearwater area. Keith Robertson drove the Alann Gross' 2006 MINI to third overall in the PAX handicapped time. Four MGBs, all running with top, or should I say bonnet, stored away, buzzed about the cones. New member, David Cartlige drove his sharp '72 BRG Bee. This was his first autocross in many years. John Hunt returned with his blue '74 in FSP. The green Prepared MGB was driven by club members Tom Brewsaugh, Bryan Wilder and Maryanne Rash. Club member from Naples' Tom Bruno joined us Saturday for practice with his blue RBB.
Two Lotus Elises were present, the Lawson's red '05 (club
members) and a grey '05.
Club members, Adren Hance & Tom Mayo, FSP regulars, had
white '76 and red '73 TR6's.

The final Brit was a '59 Morgan+4, with a rollover bar and a
fuel cell.
See more of Dan Rash's racing photos on our website and join us at the airstrip to see these cars run in person, and the other hundred cars competing on the monster mile. |

Autocross Report - October
7th & 8th, 2006
by Jerry Wilcox
October brought the weather SW Florida is famous
for, warm and sunny. It also brought out a large
group of Autocrossers to the 8th event at the
Buckingham Airfield.
![]()
Bill Newman brought out his newly
acquired Vintage Spitfire to get the bugs worked out before hitting the vintage racing circuit. The bugs
were Lucas type. A couple of rotors got him around
the course.
Project MGB, with Bryan Wilder
driving, came back with fresh BRG and a white
stripe. Lucas makes another strike! The starter
took a dump. Club Secretary, Tom Brewsaugh, brought
2 starters from his garage and they both had
problems. The third one, removed from his parts car
Saturday evening was the charm. Bryan and I
installed it Sunday. Now we will work on the
suspension.
![]() The Becky-Denise war is over. Becky moved past Denise, and has shored up the CSL win in her MX5
Stacy Wilder [ESLN]
outruns mom, Marji [ESL] by
0.13 sec., both took out one cone sharing the ES '88 Fiero.
Adren Hance '76 TR6 took honours in
FSP.
Tom Sizemore, 99 Mustang Cobra was
left to play alone in F Stock, as was Joanne
in HS
The Beast and I finished 4 of 5 in EMOD. I can't
blame the Beast, she was running great - more power
than I have learned to tame yet. I would like to
thank SCCA racer Craig Disney for directing me to a
local Sonoco retailer that has 110 race gas at a
self serve pump.
Tom Sizemore III was second in GS,
But he is the runaway winner of the BCCSWF Autocross
trophy. He has 40 points, next is 20 with only 2
events left in 2006
Spectators are always welcome at Gulfcoast
Autocrosser events. Club members dropping in to say
'Howdee' were George & Louise Krause,
Lionel Hill in his MGA and new
member Julio Lupon in a yellow
oldie Mini with a full roll cage. Check the
schedule on our website. Autocrossing is as much a
social event as a performance event.

Autocross Report - September
2 & 3, 2006
by Jerry Wilcox
Summer Break is Over, Summer
Rains Aren't.
Back to Buckingham and orange cones on a
holiday weekend.
Bryan Wilder returned in the GP MGB, now in
BRG (will have a better picture next month - with all of the
paint job completed - there are some pictures on the
website).
![]()
Malcolm and Judith Lawson were present with
their red Lotus Elise. They shared their ride with Joan
Clark, as they will all drive it at the Topeka National
Event. Joan's personal racer is a ZO6 'Vette.
Becky and Dan Rash brought the MX5 out to
play. Becky got ahead of Denise Kirk this month by 0.5
seconds.
The Sizemore family was present, Dad Tom was
up against LS Lincoln and a new Caddy STSV. Tom III was all
by himself in G Stock. Joanne got 3 good runs in with the
Sunbird.
Stacy Wilder, novice, came within 0.1 seconds
of her Mom, Marji, sharing the '88 Fiero.
Member Tom Mayo was #2 in BSP in a M3 BMW.
I quit smoking! As my to do list from last
month stated - the Beast was in need of some TLC. So, I
rebuilt the engine in the Beast: bored, new pistons, rings
bearings and a big honking 9 quart oil pan. NO more smoke.
It ran great, but as I waited for the track temp to come up
and I got shut out by rain.
Following lunch, rain came in Biblical
amounts and didn't let up. All loaded up, changed tires
etc. and got soaking wet before heading home.
Cheers, Jerry

"At the Gap there be Dragons" by Chuck Maher
At least that's what the small sticker that I pasted to the corner of the Stalker roll bar says. Dragons at the Gap and almost everywhere else in southeastern Tennessee. The gap here is Deal's Gap and the Dragon refers to an 11 mile twisty bit of road known as the Tail of the Dragon where enthusiasts encounter 318 up and down, left and right mind boggling turns. I had found myself in the perfect place, at the perfect time with the perfect instrument. This is how the inaugural "Stalker V6 Ambush in the Smokies" started on that Tuesday in late June. The Stalker V6 is an American made kit version of the indomitable Lotus Super 7. Weighing in at around 1450 lbs. and sporting up to 300 H.P. the car is just what crew chief ordered for a ride in the Smoky Mountain country side. By late afternoon Tuesday, nine Stalkers had arrived at the Baymont Inn in Cleveland, Tennessee and were ready to go for the four day cruise. Our guides on this tour could easily be considered "locals" as they seem to spend most of their free time in these hills and had a first name relationship everywhere we drove. Paul Whittle, owner of Stalker #3, and his son Jeremy know every little 2 lane back road south of the Kentucky border. In all fairness to the adjoining states, we traveled through North Carolina and Georgia as well, sometimes crossing into all three as many as twice a day. Paul and Jeremy led us on so many roads it was impossible to keep track. The most famous of these being U.S. 129 (The Tail of The Dragon) and the Highways 143 and 165 (Cherohala Skyway) that combine to make an unforgettable 130 mile loop through some of the most beautiful touring highways in the United States. The roads surrounding the Smoky Mountain National Park are all like that! This area is known as a haven for motorcyclists from around the globe, with celebs like Michael Schumacher showing up frequently to play. It's also heaven for sports cars. The MG International 2006 event was being held just up the road at Gatlinburg with some 1300 entries. We thought we were something, with members of our group coming from as far away as Oklahoma, New Hampshire and Florida, but we got trumped by a stalwart gentleman from western Kansas. He had traveled over 1000 miles in a Concours class 1936 MG PB with a bed roll and a coffee thermos, talk about the "right stuff". On day three, fellow BCC member Denise Kirk arrived in her Miata to share the fun. Everyone thought great, another chase car (we already had a Porsche Cayman) but surprised our little group of highway delinquents by keeping up quite smartly. All in all, the drives lasted for about 8 hours each day and averaged 200 miles. Friday saw half of the group depart and only five cars remained for the Saturday drive. It started out well with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. Well, by the afternoon, the weather god frowned and we found ourselves 80 miles from shelter in a Florida style downpour. Now for most, this would be only a minor inconvenience. Even a leaky British roadster like my TR6 would have soldiered through. The Stalker on the other hand, is a bit more Spartan. Lacking a top, doors or wipers made the drive a lot more interesting. Driving the aluminum bathtub was a sloshing good adventure. I must remember to Rain-X my glasses. Being of the "older persuasion" after a 24 hour tow up and back, eight hours a day of twisty road, I was ready for a break. Denise on the other hand was back up there the very next weekend. God loves the young....... As for me, I'm rested now, the next chance I get I'm there. For information on The Tail of the Dragon, go to www.tailofthedragon.com or www.dealsgap.com. For more information on the Brunton Stalker V6 go to www.bruntonauto.com.

Autocross Report - June 3rd & 4th, 2006 Chuck Maher's Stalker passed the muffler test with exhaust system #3. Jerry and Chuck were 4 and 5 in E-Mod. Pete Eissler will probably have his Super Stalker when we return in Sept. G-Stock pilots Tom Sizemore III and Bill Newman placed 2 & 3 in the Mini Cooper S class. Tom Sizemore Jr's Mustang Cobra 4 cammer was second in F-Stock. Adren Hance turned an amazing 78.7 second run in F-Street Prepared with the TR6 to give him 7th place overall. Note: Tom Mayo - Get those new tires and get out there with Adren. How is the Grey Ghost doing you ask?! Or better yet - WHAT is the Grey Ghost? It is a MGB with interesting body work and engine - running in G-Prepared class. It has become our Autocross - unofficial project of fun. Bryan Wilder [my son-in-law] and I have been working on it since Chuck 'let me park it in my yard'. The clutch was slipping last month, so we pulled the engine w/transmission - replaced clutch plates and stuff. Modifications were done before putting the engine back in - to allow for easy pulling next time. Bryan has been testing it out - and it is running pretty good. Tom Mayo jumped into the Grey Ghost this weekend to see how it felt. He had 2 really great runs in the Ghost and he was on the way to a blistering 3rd run when the coil went topsy-turvy ending the run. Barring any unforeseen problems, the GREY Ghost will be in proper British attire [BRG] in Sept. Novice Joann Sizemore got a lot of track time on Sat. which really showed with her runs on Sunday. Tom, III says mom will return with new Hankooks in Sept. Stacy Wilder competed in her first event, following Saturday driver’s school in her mom's '88 E-Stock Fiero. Stacy and Bryan are new BCCSWF members. Marji Wilcox added 9 more points to her E-Stock total. She had a little disadvantage on Sunday when it started to rain as she took off. With no wipers hooked up, looking out the side window was not the way to improve your time.
Dan Rash is back! Doctor gave him the OK, and he was looking well,
finishing 3rd in
With over 2 months till the next event, my 'To do List' is maybe do-able. 1] get the Ghost in proper attire (BRG) - which requires a bit of body work first; 2] pull & rebuild the 351 in the Beast; 3] then there's the Lotus - put it back together; 4] put the overdrive in Marji's TVR (she helped me put one in mine); 4] then there are the Lucas problems in the TVR 2500M; and 5] other non completed projects. If only work didn’t get in the way of having fun.
Till next time, Jerry |

Autocross Report - May 6th & 7th, 2006
Hot sunny weather welcomed BCCSWF members for
event 5 at Buckingham. Big news! Gary Maue brings the
world famous RoSpit out to play. This is the Grassroots
Motorsports project car. He avoids the Big Excuse award by
showing up.
Bill Tripp, member from Vero Beach, rolled
his Rabbit racer in N. C. hillclimb, but drove over Sunday
to show us his new Mini S. Pete Eissler dropped in Sunday
and gave us a progress report on his Super Stalker.
![]()
Brian Wilder went to the Saturday novice
school and then ran Project Grey Ghost, the GP MGB both
Saturday and Sunday. Despite a slipping clutch, he ran some
very impressive times. David Williams, in from the UK, blew
the cobwebs out of the yellow Mini. Malcolm and Judith
Lawson are back with the red Lotus Elise in SS.
Becky Rash beat Denise Kirk by only 0.19
seconds in CSL - we are keeping a close eye on this back and
forth, month to month duel. Both ladies are exciting drivers
to watch. Dan Rash will return when the new timing equipment
that the doctors installed is certified.
Tom Sizemore, FS Cobra convert., finished
behind a hot Mustang and Caddy. Tom Sizemore III, was close
to leading GS, when another Mini Cooper S found 2 seconds.
A dreaded Datsun 510 beat Adren Hance in a TR6, but Adren
leads class in points.
Jerry Wilcox, WKT 2000 (in the Beast) and
Gary Maue in the RoSpit were 4 & 5 in EMOD, but made lots of
noise. Brian Wilder - GP, Marji Wilcox - ESL, Joanne
Sizemore - HSNL were first in single car classes. Chuck
Maher, as well as other EMOD cars seek a way to quiet cars
to meet the new noise limits. Tom Mayo will return with the
TR6 when the Bimmer tires wear out.
Our last event is June 4, then summer break,
returning in September. If you are ever in the area when we
are out there running around the cones, stop in and say HI.
Just look for the 'Stars & Stripes' and the Union Jack flying
proudly. That's us - having fun.

Autocross Report - February 11 & 12, 2006 |
Autocross Report Event Number 3, March 6, 2005
by Chuck Maher
Gulf Coast Autocrosser’s third event of the year took place on March 6th at Buckingham airfield. The weather couldn’t have been better, but only brought out a total of 102 drivers. The British Car Club of Southwest Florida contributed with nine entries in seven classes.
With such a low number of drivers, everyone was looking forward to getting in four runs during the event, but the fourth run was deleted in favor of a new event, the “All Hands Rock Pickup”. It wasn’t a timed event, but did supply a great number of Christmas Presents for a certain someone.
BCCSWF drivers collected four 1st places, three 2nd place, one 3rd place, and one 4th place finishes on the day. Denise Kirk driving her ’01 Mazda Miata was first in C Stock Ladies with a best time of 70.131 seconds. Chuck Maher was first in F Street Prepared in a ’72 Triumph TR6 with a time of 80.311, followed by Bill Tripp in second in a ’78 VW Rabbit with 80.434 and Graham Knight took fourth in his ’73 Austin Mini Cooper. Tom Mayo decided to give his TR6 a rest this time around and brought out his ’95 BMW M3 instead. Tom took home a second place in STU with a best time of 73.945. Marji Wilcox driving a ’88 Pontiac Fiero was first in E Stock Ladies Novice with her 83.107 time. Marji is showing massive improvement as her first season progresses. Adren Hance is performing admirably in F Street Prepared Novice with a time 74.976. Adren and his ’76 TR6 are coming in with times quicker than all the rest of us in FSP. Marji and Adren are neck and neck in the race for BCCSWF Rookie of the Year competition. Bill Newman came away third in G Stock with his ’05 Mini Cooper S at 74.751 and Dan Rash was second in E Stock in his ’92 Mazda Miata with 84.322.
As the summer months approach and the and the competition heats up along with the weather, we hope more club members come out and see what all the fun is about.
Dan Rash wins British Car Club Competition Driver of the Year Award
by Chuck Maher
On Sunday February 6th, during the Gulf Coast Autocrossers February event driver’s meeting, Dan Rash was presented the 2004 British Car Club of Southwest Florida’s Competition Driver of the Year Award. Dan participated in all ten GCAC Autocross events in 2004 driving a 1972 Triumph TR6 rolling up a series of firsts and seconds all year long. Congratulations go out to him for a job well done.
Dan received the perpetual award from its previous holder Tom Mayo. The plaque is presented on an annual basis and has been for the past nine years with the winner holding it for one year, adding the new winner’s name and passing it on. A point formula is used to choose the winner. Points are awarded for events entered, British cars entered, and competitors in the rear view mirror at the finish. All members participating in sanctioned events requiring driving skill and awarded placement are eligible.
Autocross Report - February 5th & 6th, 2005
by Chuck Maher
Gulf Coast Autocrossers put together a marvelous event for their February championship series. In lieu of an SCCA National Tour event, they held their own two day event that drew a total of 229 drivers on two very quick courses.
The British Car Club was well represented with twelve drivers on Saturday and fourteen on Sunday. For the participants of the two day event, G.C.A.C. added the times together and presented special trophies at the end of the event. For the drivers that could only make the Sunday event, these times were used for the yearly Championship Series. Out of the two day series, B.C.C.S.W.F. drivers garnered five trophies, 10 first place, and 4 second places. Our trophy winners included Denise Kirk in C Stock Ladies, Becky Rash in E Stock Ladies, Graham Knight in F Street Prepared, Marji Wilcox in E Stock Novice Ladies, and Adren Hance in F Street Prepared Novice. Congratulations to all of them, for their well deserved rewards.
The F Street Prepared class displayed a surprising amount of drama for the weekend. On Sunday, we were truly witness to the “Thrill of victory and the agony of defeat” with Graham Knight turning in first place victories on both days and Tom Mayo, who didn’t participate on Saturday, untypical running off course for his three runs on Sunday. Graham in his ’73 Mini put together best times of 75.896 and 74.582 respectively to get him to the top of the podium. Graham has been in the hunt for a first place for awhile now and is getting his “Little Yellow Beast” up to expectations. Unfortunately, on his last run Sunday (he’d already won); he decided to pick up a cone. Said cone didn’t die easily though, as it passed under his Mini, it too part of his aerodynamic body work with it.
Dan Rash driving my ’73 TR6 placed second on Sunday with a time of 75.100 and yours truly in third with 75. 707. The first three positions were within .6 seconds of each other. It’s getting interesting folks. Vero Beach member, Bill Tripp brought a different vehicle this time around and took fourth with his German Mini (Volkswagen Rabbit) with a time of 79.902. But the weekend’s happiest competitor by far was Tom Brewsaugh. Tom, who also is a GCAC member, hasn’t had a ride for awhile, but recently acquired a pretty yellow 1976 MGB. You could clearly see the smile on his face as he skillfully banked that little beauty through the pylons. Tom was a happy fourth with a time of 80.958. A set of shocks and we all better watch out! In the F Street Prepared Novice group we have sleeper that we all better keep an eye on. Adren Hance Jr., driving his ’76 TR6 put in an absolute smokin’ time of 70.760. Adren’s driving skills have been outstanding since he started autocrossing just a few short months ago. It’s amazing what can be done with a 30 year old car!
Malcolm and Judith Lawson showed up with a bright and shiny new red Lotus Elise and, while getting accustomed to the car, place in the middle of the pack in Super Stock. The little Elise held it’s own against Porsche GT3’s and Corvette Z06’s, well done. Becky Rash and Denise Kirk and Marji Wilcox all came away as class winners as well. Becky won in an E Stock Ladies Mazda Miata with a time of 77.247, Denise in a C Stock Ladies Miata with 75.390 and Marji with 85.889. Marji showed up this weekend with an ’88 Pontiac Fiero instead of her usual TVR 2500.
Our New Mini drivers, Tom Sizemore III and Bill Newman diced with each other the whole weekend with Tom in second place on Saturday with a time of 71.986 in his ’03 Cooper S and Bill with a 75.830 in his ’05 Cooper S. On Sunday it was reversed with Bill coming in second with a 67.908 and Tom in fourth with a 69.184. Unfortunately, both were behind a yellow Mini Cooper S driven by a man we just refer to as “Mr. Smithsky”.

A Hot July and August was set aside for off track summer social events. 26 North X 081 West remained in tack as September Event #7 was spent Tracking major unwanted hurricane events. Gulf Coast AutoCrossers served up back to back track action on October 2 and 3. New members Adren Hance, Brian Lochner, and Marji Wilcox look to be an awesome addition to our British class killing bunch with fine debuts in their respective classes. The BCCSWF Bad Boys still dominant FSP with their Triumphs, MGB's, Spitfires, and old Mini's when available or running. Becky and Maryanne Rash still hard rule in our British Vette classes. Just Add Water
Sunday, May 02, 2004
A lighting delay at the start, two added afternoon shower bursts, and the
Infamous Off Course 3B over the PA made for a short run day on a very tight
1 1/8 mile course. FSP results #1 Dave Maslako turning a 76.717 in a 77 MGB,
followed up by #2 Dan Rash 72 TR6 with a 78.257, and #3 Bill Tripp’s 79.937 Mini
Cooper power wagon on bald street tires. Tripp with auto cross tires will be
awesome! Graham Knights Blazing Yellow 72 Mini Cooper was laid up with a case of
starter shock, but still brought home #5 in class with a loaner 03 Cooper S time
of 85.761. #6 2003 Class Champion Tom Mayo found 2 unheard of fast off course
runs, one dry, one wet. As Tom put it "This day belongs to another." Chuck
Maher on new Kuhmo’s nearly torched my time from his FSP novice class with a #1
time of 76.762. He must be riding high on his #4 finish at Vintage Triumph event
in Tallahassee as CO-driver Bill Newman took #2 slot against top line SCCA Tour
drivers there. D-Mod brought a #2 finish at 77.645 to Pete Eissler in his
Blakely Bantam. In C-stock novice new member John Jassy drove a loaner car to 3
consecutive Off Course Runs setting a new club record. Tom Sizemore III
in his 03 Mini Cooper S continues to dismantle all competition in G-Stock Novice
class with a six-second #1 finish of 70.941. The Queens Diva's: (HAPPY
BIRTHDAY) Becky Rash is always hot behind the wheel as well as the PA. Today she
was hot under the collar with a water drenched course and no runs. Becky said
just another piece of cake please! Denise Kirk #1 in CSL turning 75.090 and
still drawing crowds to staging. This reporter needs help from his fellow B
owner members Mike Scott, John Ellsworth, and others. Warding off this Hoard of
TR6’s and Mini Coopers alone is a lonely job. A MGB out of action is a
guaranteed 1st class ticket to the salvage yard. Note: To all readers
and members. Make your presence known. Take those British beauties out of the

MGB THROTTLES TR6

Finally, my B and I have become one on the fastest course layout this
year. Two months of milliseconds separating 1st and 2nd
place. With flawless clean runs, I was able to Torch the course at 76.125 in
FSP. My thanks to Top gun Tom Mayo for some sound driving advice. 2nd
place went to Dan Rash (TR6) with a 76. 320. Brit Graham Knight solidified the
sweep in his 73 Mini Cooper turning a 79.954. There was no mercy in G-stock
Novice as Tom Sizemore III bested three others with a 74.174 in his Mini Cooper
S to remain supreme. FSP novice Chuck Maher swept through his class with street
tires and a 79.316. Chuck has ordered some Bad Boy Kuhmo’s for next month.
Pete Eissler must have been snoozing in his Blakley Bantam while taking 2nd
place in D-modified clocking in at 78.447. The Babes in Ladies Diva Division
continue to be Queens in Class. BSPL Becky Rash is hot at 72.391, while CSL
Denise Kirk is trimming her nails at 79.658. Tom Mayo ran his BMW in BSP against
a high-powered Vette to place 2nd. New member John Jassy tried
C-stock novice in a borrowed car and a 1st place finish at 86.627.
John plans on giving his Ferrari a shot next month. Adren Hance continues to
turn faster consistent times at Test and Tune in his TR6. He may try the full
course next month. So take care all, till the light turns green again.

Extra parts in my
garage are thinning down as Chuck Maher and I unleashed our 2004 Custom Built
MGB Sebring in gray wolf primer. Assembled with Brit parts from the 60’s thru
80’s and maybe a satellite dish, we made successful runs on the test course with
no major problems. Kuhmo tires, and no break rear end turned us all some very
competitive times. Dan Rash said the rear sticks like Super Glue, mmmm. Mike
Scott's help with the fiberglass fenders made a world of difference in weight
and handling. A stock engine Lowered front and rear suspension, Weber 45 DCOE
carburetors, 2 inch exhaust, and a baby cam may wake up the competition. Custom

FUEL & FIRE & FEBRUARY
By Fast Dave Maslako
February 14 Autocross Test and Tune found four Autocross club members with fuel and or electrical problems at the get go. Graham Knight’s Mini was the first to succumb to a major Fuel pump leak just above the exhaust manifold, no fire. My MGB fuel leak and broken wire were repaired in short order. New member Adren Hance debut school runs were great. His test runs went awry. A TR6 alternator overload toasted his TR6 wiring system. This is just a short delay, as next month Adren will be taking on FSP Novice Top Gun Chuck Maher’s lightning fast TR6. My vote for Member of the Month Award is to John Bolton, for his successful mid-road rescue of Chuck with a TR6 fuel pump failure in the Out Back of Ft. Myers. A quick trip to the parts store and a British Spin of the Spanners had Chuck back in action in just over an hour. Hats Off to John Bolton. Sunday Feb. 15 produced 12 member Auto Crossers bringing home 8 Trophies in their respective classes. FSP remains the most contested class of all. #1t Dan Rash 84.816, #2t Dave Maslako 84.858, margin .042 seconds. Maslako, #3 Graham Knight 85.692, margin .834 seconds, Knight, #4 Bill Tripp 89.994, margin 4.132 seconds. D Modified had Pete Eissler and his Blakely Bantam checking into #1t spot at 87.454. Tom Mayo testing new waters with a BMW M3 landed the #1 spot in BSP with a 75.396. He can drive fast in any class. STS husband and wife team Malcolm 80.249 & Judith 88.631 Lawson gave their new set of Falcons a worthy test. G-Stock Novice Tom Sizemore #1t 82.171 clearly overpowered the competition in his Cooper S. FSP Novice Chuck Maher 93.621 finally found the road map with directions to his #1t finish. BSPL course times are just putty in Becky Rash’s hand with a blistering 79.187and top spot. CSL Blonde Diva, #1t Denise Kirk 84.800 still riding high on top in her division.

Class Act Autocross Champions
By Fast Dave Maslako
BCCSWF Honors 5 Champions in their Classes. Pete Eissler, Tom Mayo, Becky Rash, Chuck Maher, and Denise Kirk. These hard-core drivers have had very impressive times and wins throughout the 2003 Autocross year. Congratulations! 2004 brought us a very fast 1.25 mi. course on Jan 4. Tom Mayo torched FSP with a 66.461 followed by Dan Rash 75.789 TR6 loaner, Dave Maslako 76.866 MGB, Graham Knight 80.185 Mini Cooper, and Bill Tripp 82.770 Mini Cooper. Malcolm 71.743 and Judy Lawson 77.983 did well with their new Mini Cooper in STS. Tom Sizemore drove his 2003 Cooper S to 1st. place In G. Stock Novice. Chuck Maher posted his fastest time ever in FSP Novice with a 79.101. Watch out FSP here comes Chuckey's TR6 Time Trasher. Denise Kirk captured CSL with a 75.044, while Becky Rash’s (British Vette) succumbed to a Virus, but Becky made a great Sports Commentator this day. I expect next month to bring back the Spitfire Twins Bill (The Spider) Newman and Gary (Mow Pow) Maue to maintain FSP rule over Rice burners and Kraut thumpers.

NO Slip No Slide Auto Cross!
In Ladies Division BSPL Becky Rash continues to rein supreme with 82.846 time and still
queen of the ball. MIA Ladies list this month, Denise Kirk, Trish Maue, Mary
Newman, and Shannon Scott. The clubs top Spitfire drivers Bill (The Scorpion) Newman and
Gary (Mow Pow) Maue, being MIA Most of the year, may be fearful of the awesome
Power House that awaits their return to the track. Other MIAs John Ellsworth (MGB)
and Mike Scott (MGB) have left Fast Dave's MGB to fend off the Mini Cooper assault of
Graham Knight and Bill Tripp.

Back
To Action!
By
Fast Dave Maslako
After a 2 month break from the AutoCross action scene, BCCSWF
is back in the winners circle. F. Street Prepared ace Tom Mayo captures the
top slot. New member Bill Tripp#2 and British Bully Graham Knight#3 drove their Brit Mini
Cooper (Thugs) to winning times over #4 Fast Dave Maslako and his 3 wheeled, broken
studded MGB wonder in that order. Dave Williams #5 completed the sweep. Chuck Maher
TR6 could not attain solid mental meld with his car and the course and did not do well in
the FSP novice division. As usual our Hot Babes Ladies Division brought home more Gold. #1
Becky Rash BSPL, Becky also did a fantastic job announcing all of the days action. #1
Denise Kirk CSL, Denise also did a fine job maintaining Field Order of the masses in
staging. New Member Ann Williams took command at the staging line changing letters better
than Vanna White. Hats off to all BCCSWF AutoCrossers and their Top shelf Staging Crew.
More of our members should drive those British cars out to the track on a race
Sunday and see just what our race divisions do with our cars. My car has not complained
yet!

SCCA National Tour Buckingham Field
By Fast Dave Maslako
2/22/03 & 2/23/03
A few brave BCC club members decided to run in the National Tour this year. Tom Mayo with his back injury was unable to participate. MGB / Mini / TR6 placed 3-4-5 at this event. Graham Knight finished #4 in his Mini. Graham was unable to make up lost time from the first day, but scalded Dave Maslako and his powerful 3rd place MGB by two one-hundreths of a second, on the last run the final day. Graham's improved driving and handling of his Tulip Mini Bullet will become a major factor in FSP competition in upcoming events. Seems to me that everyone has the Great Mow Power wonder Gary Maue in his or her scope AutoCross hairs. Chuck Maher finished 4th in his TR6 from hell. Dave Williams drove his TVR to 11th place in B. Stock. The wannabe British look a like's also attended. Becky Rash drove her Corvette to a 2nd place finish in BSPL. Denise Kirk and her Miata settled for 7th in CSP, and Dan Rash driving his Mazda landed in 10th place in E. Stock, with major competition in that class.
This little outing was also considered a GCAC Event # 3. Here are the results!
