We will drive our LBCs anywhere for fun - Cow Bingo?!

Naples, Florida - BCCSWF had the pleasure of attending a unique event called "Cow Bingo".  It is a fundraiser organized by the Barron Collier High School Marching Band of Naples, Florida.  The main event is a $10,000.00 prize given to lucky owner of a portion of the football field where the majority of a cow's droppings drop!

Prior to the event, numbered tickets were sold and the numbers correspond to surveyed plats on the football field.  After a delicious Rib and Chicken BBQ dinner, we were entertained by door prizes and a silent auction.
And of course, a performance by the Marching Band after the 'main' event.

The British Car Club of Southwest Florida helped bring some class to the affair by lining up some excellent examples of British iron near the Field's entrance. Members Jerry Wilcox ['77 TVR], Marjorie Wilcox ['72 TVR], John & Carol Mellor [TR6], John & Darlene Shoemakers [MGB], Hermann & Mari Kopper [MGTC], my wife, Amy & I [yellow MGB & Healey 300].

After our dinner, the cow was led onto the portion of the field that had been surveyed and the crowd eagerly awaited the big moment.  This year the cow was somewhat shy.  After almost 90 minutes of standing here and there, and sometimes lying down, the cow finally produced a winner!  We had a 1 in 2500 chance to win.  Unfortunately, the chips did not fall our way.
