From The President

February 13, 2008

This months meeting was again another busy event with a great turn out despite the rain.

The secretary's report will contain all the business details of the meeting but the other side of the meeting is equally important, the camaraderie between the members. After all the meeting agenda, we went around the room and asked, "So How’s Your LBC?”  It is interesting to hear some of the different answers from "I haven’t started it in 6 weeks" to "ran good the last time out" or "it's still a work in progress".  We heard about new bonnets, gas tanks and such. So, while the cars are out and about it’s also good to hear about the repairs made to keep them on the road.

We were in a different section of the restaurant this time so the noise level was a bit high,

I will speak to the manager and see what we can do to make it better. Hopefully by next meeting I will have a small portable sound system to help with the noise situation.   The problem with most locations is that they were built as a restaurant not a place to hold a meeting.

We will gather all the information about upcoming events, car shows, lunch runs, our racing group on so forth and get them on the discussion board Calendar of events so you may find what you need right away. We also will generate an email for club events so that all members have the current schedule so that we may attend an event as a group.

Hope to see you at our next club event!

January 13, 2008

If our first meeting of 2008 is an indicator of things to come we will have a very busy year.

We moved to a new location Alli Gators in Ft Myers, the location should help those that travel a longer distance since it is close to I-75.

Attendance was up to 43 which included some of our Snow Bird members that are here to escape the colder weather up North.

We are going to do our best to keep the calendar of events up to date on the web site so check it often so that you can join us at shows and lunch/dinner runs. If you have an event that needs to be posted just let us know, its hard to keep up with all that’s out there so all of the members are our best source of information. Please e-mail, it’s the best way so that we don’t forget (the occasional senior moment).

We also have updated e-mail addresses and will try to e-mail prior to any event. If you haven’t renewed your membership it’s never too late so print the application of off the web site or contact me and I will send one to you.

We still have a number of BCCSWF Grill Badges for sale , I was able to get them done in three different colours  light blue, dark blue and black, so you can get one to coordinate with the colour of your LBC.  At $25.00 it’s a good deal.

As always I’m available for your e-mail or phone call so if I / We can help with anything just let us know.

 Welcome to 2008!

Our website is for your use and entertainment.

Check the calendar - scheduled events and meetings will be listed. It is my hope we can schedule events far enough in advance that everyone can plan to attend.

We are currently scheduling and updating our activities for 2008. We have lunch runs, autocross, vintage racing, picnic, rally, tech sessions and our monthly meeting at Alli Gators. This is a new site starting with the January meeting. Please join us at any event. Contact me with any questions you might have or activity that we might be able to schedule. We are always looking for new and additional places to go and things to do.

Check out the Member's Cars section. If your car photo is not there it should be.  We have members with cars covering seven (7) decades and room to show more of them to all the world on our website. Send them online by clicking on webmaster contact or call me at 239-772-8162 and I will come and take a photo and get it to Becky.

We also would like all members to write a brief, or if you like, a long article for the news letter. It can be on the last event you attended, your current restoration project, a trip you have taken with your L.B.C. or any thing that enhances the club and our L.B.C.’s.

 As the old slogan goes,

“Happy Motoring”
