BCCSWF member Ed O’Neil periodically organizes scenic drives through southwest Florida. For this jaunt, the group went to Solomon’s Castle for lunch inside the “Boat in the Mote” restaurant and a tour of the Castle and pre 1935 car collection. Attending were Ed O’Neal and Marcia Reichert, Frank and Chris Palulis, Ron and Sana Lentz (in their newly minted blue MGB) and Tony Fakelmann. The drive started on SR17 at the I75 interchange and proceeded 53 miles on back roads arriving at Solomon’s near Arcadia at about 11:30. After lunch we toured the castle building (clad in tin printing plates) viewing castle-builder Howard Solomon’s art works. Then we toured his collection of pre-1935 cars.

A very enjoyable day. Nice weather, nice scenery, and a nice drive in our Little British cars.

Many thanks to Ed for the great write-up! If you are interested in future drives, please let him know.
